Have the aisle or window seat and are just praying to the plane gods the middle seat is empty? There’s a fare for the now.
Ireland’s Aer Lingus airline introduced a new fare that ‘that guarantees an aisle or window seat in the first row of the aircraft, with the middle seat left empty for a ‘roomier and more efficient travel experience.’ The fare is called AerSpace and is a ‘premium travel experience.’
The new fare will be available on flights starting September 1, 2019. But don’t think it’s a simple add on feature for a few bucks like an extra leg room seat is. Nope, since they have to leave a seat completely open they are losing out on someone actually being in it and getting that money. You know what that means, you’re paying for it… big time! The AerSpace fare appears to be 3-4 times the cost of a standard economy ticket.
We guess if you really want that extra room and not having a neighbor on your flight… it’s worth it?
Aer Lingus is offering a new ‘premium travel experience’ ‘AerSpace’ fare on short-haul flights It will be available from September 1 with prices for the fare currently up to €190 (£165) euros one way Other perks include reserved overhead bin space, fast track security, priority boarding and lounge access If you’re fed up with the mid-flight battle for the armrest then perhaps fly with Aer Lingus more often.
