For the tenth consecutive year, Bloomington Public Library and the American Association of Retired Persons are teaming up to offer tax preparation assistance to area residents, at no charge. Though assistance is being offered by volunteers associated with AARP, those seeking assistance are bound by neither age nor income restrictions.
Assistance will be offered on various Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in February, March, and April. On days when assistance is offered, volunteers will be available from 9:15 a.m.-1 p.m. with the last return each day being started no later than 12:15 p.m. Recipients cannot make an appointment for assistance as help will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Those seeking assistance are asked to bring with them to the library’s Community Room their 2018 W-2s, Social Security card, Social Security statements, and tax forms. A Social Security card or statement is required for every person whose name appears on a tax return.
Assistance will be offered on the following dates:
• Feb 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 14, 18, 19, 21, 25, 26 & 28
• Mar 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 14, 18, 19, 21, 25, 26 & 28
• Apr 1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 11 & 15
